Hi everybody!
It’s been a while since I wrote an LITC Update, and that’s due to the fact that I’ve been incredibly busy. I recently started a new job (and quit my old one in the process), so my schedule has been a little hectic. But while it’s finally starting to calm down in that department, a bunch of projects for school have just landed in my “to-do pile”.
First of all, I’m currently working on a non-sports video project for the SRJC Oak Leaf about students who live with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Since I myself was diagnosed with ADHD when I was younger, this project hits really close to home for me. We’re putting the final touches on it this week, so it should go up on the Oak Leaf website in the next 5-7 days.
The SRJC Polar Bears hockey team have started up their season, and I was in the building for their home opener against San Jose State University on Friday. Not only was I in charge of the game updates on the team’s Facebook page that night, but I also wrote the game recap for the Oak Leaf which will make its way onto the website later today.
Now that I’ve gotten all that out of the way, let’s update the blog.
In case you’ve missed it, I’ve been working on a new series for my YouTube channel called LachTalksCanucks, which are game recap videos after every Canucks game. However a couple wrenches have been thrown into the mix, one being my crappy free editing software and the other being lack of time to put them together. I do still plan to make a video for every game, but some videos might go up a few days late due to the conflicts mentioned above, and for that I apologize in advance.
The Canucks host the Ottawa Senators tonight, and I still have yet to finish the videos for the Kings game on Saturday or the Ducks game on Sunday. They will go up sometime this week, and hopefully I’ll be able to get all caught up before Edmonton comes to town on Friday.
The SRJC Polar Bears Podcast will return this week in its new “every second week” schedule. A couple of the guys on the podcast have their own busy schedules to deal with, which makes it tough for them to come in and record every week. So we felt bumping it down to one every two weeks was the right call.
As for the blog itself, I’ve really liked the routine I’ve gotten into for content and hopefully I’ll find the time to write one more article before the month is out. My personal goal for the season is to write at least one article about every team, but we’ll see how that goes.
Once again I have to thank everyone for continuing to read, watch, listen and share my work. October is close to matching my best month totals for views, and hopefully this one last round of content puts it over the top. Enjoy the last week of October hockey and Happy Halloween! – Lach
